EH student Tourgee and ‘16 alumna Taylor Fulbright semi-finalists

 

Claire Taylor, MA, Environmental Humanities ‘16, is a semi-finalist for a Fulbright research award to New Zealand. She proposes to create artwork about New Zealand’s pronounced wildlife issues through enrollment in an MFA program at the University of Aukland.

Heather Tourgee, MA, Environmental Humanities ‘19, is a semi-finalist for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award to Germany. She would like to teach English in a school with a high refugee population and to integrate nature writing and outdoor learning into her teaching.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields.
