Doug Sam and Riley Sayers will discuss their local community partnerships and the ways they use humanities tools to further environmental justice. Hannah Taub has been working at Antelope Island State Park as an Interpretive Ranger. She is facilitating a collaboration with the Northwest Band of Shoshone to educate about the Indigenous history and futurity at the park.
Danielle Endres is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah. She is also an affiliated faculty member in the Environmental Humanities Program. She recently received a National Science Foundation grant to research practices of energy democracy in Puerto Rico. Her research and teaching expertise lies in environmental communication, social movements, and Indigenous studies.
Braidan Weeks is our Fall '21 Community Practitioner-in-Residence. He is the director of the Ute Land Trust, board member with Equality Utah PAC and the Natural History Museum of Utah’s Native Advisory Board, and host of KRCL 90.9fm's Living the Circle of Life.
Riley Sayers is a second year student in the Environmental Humanities Program and a Mellon Community Fellow. Riley organizes for prison abolition, food justice, and community care with the Mobile Moon Co-op and the Salt Lake Community Bail Fund.
